Artist Bio
I studied art through my school years which included both academic and private lessons. Upon graduation from high school, I joined the army as a Counterintelligence Agent, served for 8 years, and I am a veteran of the first Gulf War. I studied Art History and Philosophy at Chaminade University while stationed in Hawaii. My studio work throughout my army years consisted primarily of sketches and line drawings. Upon leaving the army in 1997, I settled in Ft Worth and started creating larger works. My first exhibit was at Suitable for Framing for the 1997 fall Gallery Night. I wrote the art philosophy titled "Dual Existence Creationism and the Blankist Quasi-Manifesto" in 1997, and it is still the basis of my creative output today. I was a finalist for the 2007 Hunting Art Prize.I do not suffer from Post Traumatic Stress but believe in the overall healing power of artistic creativity and expression. I have been featured in the Fort Worth Star Telegram, the CBS 11 News, and am also an artist featured in the Veria Networks episode "The Spirit of Solace" in "The Art of Living Gallery" (see link below). At times these articles have misconstrued my purpose in promoting Art Therapy or has overemphasized my personal service. I do not endorse as a whole any single one of these articles. Although much of what is seen in them is true, some material has been misconstrued through editing and structure. I have and continue to exhibit in a variety of venues in and outside of the State of Texas.
