Dallas Cowboys Stadium Tours

It’s often said that they do everything bigger in Texas and the Dallas Cowboy Stadium (or as North Texans refer to it, "Jerry’s World," for Cowboys owner Jerry Jones) is no exception with a price tag more than $1.15 billion dollars. The Dallas Cowboys Stadium is the world’s largest domed stadium with seating capacity of 80,000 and includes standing room sections that increase its capacity to 110,000. Football fans are familiar with the world’s largest high-definition video screen, which hangs from 20 yard line to 20 yard line. You really have to see it to appreciate it.

Although the stadium is domed, there’s a retractable roof and glass doors allow each end zone to be opened.  There are two plazas on the east and west sides with manicured lawns and food to create a fun outdoors atmosphere.

Cowboys Stadium is more than just a sports arena. Some might say it’s a work of art that includes 21 commissioned and original works of art by established and contemporary artists. There’s even a separate The Art at Cowboys Stadium Art Tour.

There’s also a Self-Guided and VIP Guided Tour available.

The Self-Guided Tour gives you access to the field, players and cheerleaders locker rooms, the Miller Lite Club and the post-game interview room.  Prices are $17.50 for adults and $14.50 for children/seniors. Groups of 20 or more qualify for discounts.

The VIP Guided Tour provide factual details from your guide and additional access to a private suite, radio and print media press boxes, the Cotton Bowl offices, the Dr. Pepper Star Bar and Ford Motor Company Fountain.  You’ll even get a complimentary photo.  Prices are $27.50 for adults and $22.50 for children / seniors. Groups of 20 or more qualify for discounts.

Tours are offered Monday–Saturday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. (last tour departs at 4:30 p.m.) and Saturday from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. (last tour departs at 3:30 p.m.).

A Super Bowl XLV Stadium Tour is being offered until February 10, 2011, from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. daily to get a behind the scenes look at what goes on to make a Super Bowl. Cost is $40 per person and discounts are available for groups of 20 or more.

Directions can be tricky since many of the roads aren't on GPS and some are under construction. Follow the directions in the link provided by Cowboys Stadium.
